The doctors and staff of Modoc Veterinary Center value the health and well being of your pet. In order for your pet to receive the optimal care possible, here are some of our hospital policies you as a pet owner should be aware of:

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delays are inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available. A ‘drop off’ means you leave your pet with us at the time that works best for you. We will usually ask you to drop off sometime in the morning to allow our doctors time to examine the patient between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor has completed the exam, they will contact you with the diagnosis and provide you with discharge instructions.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room. For the health of unvaccinated puppies, please carry them in and out of the clinic.

Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area and exam rooms.

All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Care Credit, iCare Financial, cash and personal checks. Should you have financial concerns, please let one of our staff members know. We will be happy to provide you with a written estimate for any services needed beyond the exam. You may also be asked to leave a deposit for surgeries or emergency care needed for your pet. ** NOW ACCEPTING CareCredit AND iCare Financial!

Prescription Refill Policy

For your convenience, please call us 24 hours in advance for a refill of your pet’s prescription medication. This gives our doctors time to review your pet’s file and make sure they do not need to make any changes in their medications. Certain medications require a check-up and blood testing at specific intervals in order for your pet to continue at the correct dosage. For over the counter products such as tick and flea prevention, shampoos, deworming medicine, etc., there is no need to call in advance.
